Land acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that the Red Deer Homeless Foundation operates on the traditional territories of many Indigenous Peoples. Our organization is located on Treaty 7 land, the ancestral and traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations), as well as the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Stoney Nakoda Nations (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations).

We also recognize that our work extends into lands covered by Treaty 6, and the traditional territories of the Cree, Saulteaux, and Métis peoples.

We honour and value the ongoing connection Indigenous Peoples have to these lands, and we are committed to walking alongside Indigenous communities in the spirit of truth, reconciliation, and respectful collaboration.
