The Red Deer Homeless Foundation is pleased to welcome Renee Misfeldt as our new Community Engagement & Awareness Lead.
Renee brings a diverse background spanning the health sector, community and social services, research and evaluation, public engagement, and systems planning. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside community organizations, healthcare providers, government partners, and service agencies to better understand complex social challenges, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and support evidence-informed decision-making. Her ability to combine research, community perspectives, and practical action will be a valuable asset as the Foundation continues to advance its strategic priorities and expand its impact across the region.
In her role, Renee will lead the Foundation’s efforts related to community engagement, awareness, education, and partnership development. She will play a key role in advancing Project Nexus, strengthening relationships with stakeholders, supporting the Foundation’s homelessness education strategy, and helping build the research and data capacity necessary to inform advocacy, funding applications, and long-term planning. Her expertise aligns closely with the Foundation’s commitment to serving as a trusted community convener while advancing collaborative, evidence-based solutions to homelessness and housing insecurity.
Renee’s experience working across multiple sectors provides her with a unique perspective on the interconnected factors that contribute to homelessness, housing insecurity, health outcomes, and community well-being. This cross-sector experience will be particularly valuable as the Foundation continues to bring together governments, Indigenous communities, service providers, businesses, funders, and community members in pursuit of shared solutions. Her ability to bridge research, policy, health, and community perspectives will strengthen the Foundation’s capacity to understand emerging trends, measure impact, communicate community needs, and ensure that decisions and investments are informed by reliable evidence.
